By Air: Nearest airports are Dinard and Rennes
One of the most popular ways to reach Normandy is by ferry. It is always spectacular to see the coast of France coming into view, and even more so to come upon the beaches of Normandy just as the Allied troops did on D-Day. Most ferries leave the UK to Normandy from Portsmouth. Port cities in Normandy are Cherbourg, Caen, La Havre and Dieppe, with St Malo in Brittany. Visit Direct Ferries for travel information.
Reaching further into the Normandy region is done one of two ways: train or car. There are opportunities to rent cars at the airports or at Normandy’s major ports, including Caen, Dieppe, Le Havre and Cherbourg.
